I’ve always found the objects people fill their homes with fascinating. The things we hold on to and choose to display communicate things about us, and the placement of objects and their condition often tell stories. My mother’s house is a treasure trove of interesting objects and groupings that could tell hundreds of stories. My mom rarely passes up an opportunity to stop by an antique store, yard sale, or flea market, and is always coming home with interesting things.
This collection of colorful objects has lived beside my mother’s sink for at least four years. I’m sure it’s changed a little, but not much. The fun colors, shapes, and light always catch my eye.
My mothers home is filled with nick-knacks, fabric, shells, plates, and various antique and thrift-store finds.
