This was a short week thanks to a conference that I’m flying to Texas to attend tomorrow, but it was still plenty stressful. Right now I can’t help but think of grad school as a period of voluntary suffering, of course, I’m hoping to come out better for it at the end…if I survive it. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right?
Monday
- Work: Faculty Commons – worked on web stuff and homework
- Alumni Chapter Meeting with Seth, Kaci, and Alan – we finalized our game plan about what we plan to do this year. Now it’s time to get to work! I’m so excited to have so much support behind me. I can’t wait to get alumni stuff going strong again.
- Design Studio – reviewed our branding/style guides. I got some good feedback I’m looking forward to applying.
- Finished up my first major Sound Design project.
Tuesday
- Darkroom Photography – Midterm Review. We posted our photos and photograms on the board and had a review. I love reviews!
- Meeting with Sarah
- Sound Design Class — We were supposed to turn in our first assignment but the assignment sheet never made it to Blackboard so we are being given extra time to do the extra things we didn’t know about. We sort of had a midterm review. We didn’t review the material, just terminology, and concepts that might be on the exam.
- I started panicking during Sound Design class. I think the stress of midterms is causing me to have a mini-meltdown. I went straight home after class to study and try to calm down.
Wednesday
Took the day off from school and work to have a mental health day and to cram for my Sound Design exam. I took the exam at 12:30 and felt like I did okay, but upon checking Blackboard later in the day discovered I made a 96. I don’t know how I managed to get an A but I’m thankful. Maybe I’m picking up more than I think. I’m so glad I took today off. I’m still feeling weird. Sort of foggy headed and mentally dizzy, and I’ve had to run errands and pack for my trip, but having some quiet time at home is helping me recenter.
