Year 3, Week 4: September 10th – 16th

What a crazy busy week. I was sick all week, but on the mend after seeing a doctor on the 9th. The Photo Club had its first officers meeting, and it’s second meeting of the semester, and a big photo shoot with APO on Saturday. For my classes, I worked on video projects and 3d modeling in SketchUp. I had an hour-long lecture/demo/presentation in the Senior Projects class on Thursday. It was fun and went well but was a lot of work. And then there were other meetings, projects, and activities. I am honestly impressed with myself for juggling what I am juggling so well. I can’t keep it up forever so I am taking steps to make everything more manageable. In the meantime kudos to me.

    • Meeting officially ended at 5 but carried on till almost 6 pm

I pulled an allnighter prepping for my first Senior Projects presentation. The presentation went great and the class went well but I felt depleted by the time my Design Tech. class started. I was also still feeling a bit under the weather so my voice was pretty rough during the Photo Club meeting. Photo Club stuff is going great and we are finally super organized which makes doing all our stuff much easier. We had a great show & tell meeting with a workshare by Abigail who has a great eye and does great work. I was thankful when the day was over and I was able to crawl into bed. I passed out almost as soon as I got home and slept from 7pm-2am, got up and worked on meeting notes and homework till 5 am and then passed back out from 5:30 to 11 am. Just a typical #gradlife day.

Friday / Saturday / Sunday

  • Homework
  • Got a great deal on a used Theta 360 camera that I’m looking forward to using for some projects.
  • Submitted work to the SPE SC Student Pin-Up Exhibition. I purchased conference registration before everyone decided we’d wait till spring and I can’t afford to go on my own, but since I’ve already paid for registration I might as well submit my work to the show and get it out there. I submitted three of my #metoo images and I’m really excited to share them, and am hopeful I’ll get some feedback. I’m guaranteed to have at least one included in the show, but of course, I’m hoping all three will be included.
  • Photo Club / APO (Drama) club photo shoot from 10am to 1pm on Saturday. We had 4 photographers and 7 models who we shot in two indoor setups and various outdoor areas. It was super busy but a lot of fun. Sadly my back is now paying the price for overexerting myself.
  • Attended an art reception at the Walnut Gallery in Gadsden from 6:30-8pm on Saturday. Great variety show!
