I’m honored that my #MeToo image, “Stepfather,” was recently included in an exhibition at Buckham Gallery in Flint, Michigan. A heartfelt thank you to the gallery and juror Darryl Baird for giving me the opportunity to share this piece and a part of my story, which I’ve shared in this video. “Stepfather” is a deeply personal piece that reflects my journey as a survivor. It represents the complexities of trauma and resilience, offering a glimpse into my story through art. It’s vital to believe survivors and support those of us who are able to share our experiences—many cannot. It’s an honor and privilege to speak for those who cannot share their stories, and I feel a deep sense of duty to do so.
