I have been crazy busy since my last post, especially during the last 3 weeks. I attended a sci fi/anime convention that some friends help run called CrisisCon in Huntsville, AL for 3 days and then immediately came home, packed, and left for 5 days in Charleston, SC. Charleston wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but I had a good time. Architecture and art are my favorite things to see when I visit a new city and Charleston had tons of both. While there were tons of art galleries, and much of it was quite nice, a lot of it starts to look the same once you’ve visited so many touristy art towns. The architecture was lovely. Charleston is packed full of old homes with lovely architectural details. The cities historic district is laid out rather nice with one really huge public park ‘Battery Park’ and a wonderful walk along the waterside down a large length of the area. The city reminded me a lot of Savannah, GA except for family friendly. While there’s a university in Charleston it doesn’t seem as though the city caters as much to their school as Savannah does.
I got an internship!
While in Savannah I received a call about an internship with a company called ‘Supply Room,’ a company that manufactures and sales uniform and accessories mostly to the military and law enforcement. I started at it this past week and I’ve only worked three days so far and I can definitely tell that I have a ton to learn. -sigh-
Full Schedule
I’m hoping I’ll feel a little less overwhelmed by my fall schedule once I’ve gotten used to it for a few weeks. I’m currently looking at something along the following.
Monday: Classes 12-9:15 PM
Tuesday: Intern 8-5 PM
Wednesday: Classes 12-9:15 PM
Thursday: Intern 8-5 PM
Friday: Intern 8-5 PM
Saturday: One day off to catch up on homework and hopefully spend time with my husband who will have to work every other Saturday.
Sunday: Work Study at JSU 1-9 PM
I’ve also got to fit some extra work study work in there somewhere, make up an incomplete from last semester, and a few other things, but it’s only 4 months, right? lol
