Unit Crest: Production Illustrations

One of my first product illustrations for a client proof. A Unit Crest is a type of distinctive unit insignia made of metal typically no larger than 1 1/4" that is worn by members of the military, or ROTC as in this case. The company I work for specializes in insignia of varying kinds, including custom insignia. When an order comes in for custom insignia the process usually go along the following lines: The client describes what they would like the insignia to look like to a sales representative. Visual aids are often sent in, or references are made to [...]

Mural Project: Beginning Fall & Winter

Our mural features the four seasons of the year with bear and rabbit characters. Summer and spring are mostly complete. Today Karl worked on applying the second coat of green to the treeline while Taiki, Katrina, AnnaMaria, and I began painting the fall and winter scenes. We spent about five hours working on the mural before the heat depleted us. It's been slow and uncomfortable work thank to the hot summer sun shining down on the metal building. I digitally painted the dragon in Photoshop before spending a ton of time following tutorials on how to work with brushes and create realistic fire and smoke in Photoshop. Tools: Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator

Bald Eagle Website

My first web design class project. The assignment was to create an animal-themed website for kids. I also illustrated the eagle and attempted to create an Animal Facts logo with a zebra head but the zebra part didn’t turn out very well.

Liberty Not Debt

My senior show project 'Liberty, Not Debt!' is finally set up. This project consists of an educational brochure, postcard, and website. The website is no longer online but here's a few pictures of my setup. This project was very research heavy. I spent almost the entire semester reviewing government budget reports and figuring out what all the terms meant. I printed way too many postcards which I gave out as take-aways at the show. Finally learned how to make graphs in Illustrator. Check out my awesome graph making skills below. Liberty Not Debt, brochure and postcard
