I've been in a bit of a funk lately and I've gotten a bit rusty with my photography. For the last few years the only professional photography I've really done is product photography which didn't require much artistry once we developed formulas for how to shoot different objects. This little leaf was submerged in one of my flower pots after a very rainy week. It’s nice to find a pretty little something like this amid all the chaos we live in, especially after all the rain. It gives me hope that one day we’ll finish this renovation and have a functional and aesthetically pleasing space to enjoy.
I've always found the objects people fill their homes with fascinating. The things we hold on to and choose to display communicate things about us, and the placement of objects and their condition often tell stories. My mother's house is a treasure trove of interesting objects and groupings that could tell hundreds of stories. My mom rarely passes up an opportunity to stop by an antique store, yard sale, or flea market, and is always coming home with interesting things. Here's a peak at a project I'm currently working on with an outside web developer for The Supply Room. The goal of the project is to create an interface for users to customize various products with various art and text. We perform a variety of production processes on a larger variety of products, so there are a lot of options and limitations to account for.
