Process Makes Perfect, Student Work

I just finished grading my student's first class project and am super proud of their work. Digital Literacy is a class made up mostly of freshmen with little to no experience on Macs much less Adobe Creative Cloud. This project introduces students to typical research, brainstorming, and idea development processes and results in a 5 step info-graphic. I think these turned out great and I'm excited to see how the students develop over the semester.

Grad School, Spring 2019

UPDATE: I'm planning to do a major redesign of my blog this summer so I haven't been posting as much here. I'm slowly moving my grad journal entries over to my personal blog at carolandkarl.com so that this site can eventually be a nice clean portfolio site with a blog featuring my work and learning resources (at least that's my current plan). Right now this is very much a catch all journal and it just feels kind of messy. Anyways, last semester ended well. 1 Second Everyday, Fall 2018

1 Second Everyday (sometimes 2) recorded from August 27th to November 29th. This was the first assignment in my Video for Photographers class. I've done 1 Second a Day projects before and always enjoy them. This is the longest 1 Second Everyday project I've completed and it's a great reminder of everything I managed to cram into the Fall semester in 2018. Assignment: Use the 1 Second Everyday app to record a moment from each day during the semester. Class: Video for Photographers Instructor: Doug Clark Tools: iPhone, 1 Second Everyday (app)

Jem and the Holograms Makeup Tutorial

Another How to Cosplay instructional video! This one is a Jem and the Holograms makeup tutorial. I had a lot of fun making this video. I'm a huge fan of '80s cartoons and Jem is one of my favorites. This shoot was a little more complex than my previous one. I used three cameras for this shoot, two for my main setup, and one for shooting b-roll. I used the Voice Recorder Pro app on my iPhone to record audio. Shout out to my husband Karl for helping me start and stop cameras during filming. He's the best! Assignment: Create [...]
