Book Pitch Development

Week 2: Spring 2017 JSU was closed on Monday for MLK Day so I only had class on Wednesday. I wish the holiday wasn't so early in the semester because I feel extra out of the loop with the Graphic Design II class I'm assisting in on Mondays. ART 638: Special Topics: The Book Pitch with Jamie Runnells Wednesday: Discussed high school art lesson plans Publishing options, including self-publishing Due: Present typed refined concept (2-3 sentences/elevator pitch) with retail landscape, target audience, and content outline. Brainstorming Book Ideas

Week 1: Spring 2017 I've been looking forward to this semester since I heard what classes were being taught last semester. I immediately knew what kind of book I'd like to create for the book pitch class but I enjoyed the brainstorming questions we were given as prompts and have several other ideas I'd like to work on in the future. All of my classmates have fun unique ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's work progress. Dr. Henricks is retiring after this semester so I had to have one last class with her. She's doing a class on the [...]

My GA duties still include managing the art departments social media accounts and websites, but I'm also getting to shadow Christian Dunn's Graphic Design II class. #excited I have a better idea of what to expect in my classes this semester and I'm really excited about them all. My semester at a glance: ART 638: Special Topics: The Book Pitch with Jamie Runnells ART 677: History [...]

TBT: Painting I with Gary Gee

I can't remember when these were done, probably in 2007, the really awful one may of been done in 2005. I initially hated painting these still-lifes but now I think they're fun and I'm glad Mr. Gee challenged us to paint all these lines and shapes. Class: Painting I Professor: Gary Gee

Semester Review, Fall 2016

At the end of each semester MFA students are required to present a formal summary of research and creative work to all members of the MFA Committee. I had my review today and it went really well. I enjoy having opportunities to present but can't help but feel nervous. I talked too fast and ended up with dry mouth constantly causing me to have to pause for a sip of water. It's so weird because that never happens to me. I need more presentation opportunities so I can work through it. I created a keynote presentation of my work from [...]
