My second year of grad school has begun. I’ve taken on a bit more than I should have, but I’m stubborn so I’ll suffer through it. I’m enrolled in four classes this semester and I’m working as a graduate administrative assistant for Faculty Commons. I’ll be on campus from 8-6 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and from 8-4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I’ll also probably be on campus most of the day Friday, and on the weekend as needed.
This semester I’m enrolled in:
- ART 645: Advanced Design Studio with Christian Dunn
- ART 690 – Advanced Darkroom Photography with Sarah Miles
- DR 242 – Introduction to Theatre with Randy Blades
- DR 480 – Sound Design and Production with Jennifer Luck
I’m especially excited about Darkroom Photography, and Sound Design and Production. I’m tired of working at a computer all the time so I’m looking forward to working with my hands in the darkroom. I’m also excited to be taking some classes outside the art department. One of the many reasons I decided to go to grad school was to learn and experiment with new mediums. I’d like to do some installation work in the future and I’m excited about adding the element of sound to my work. Eventually, I’d like to take some film, lighting, and stage craft classes which I think would all add valuable skills to my arsenal.
