Project Description

For Jacksonville, Alabama’s annual Arbor Day Celebration, I created a poster as part of a class project that blended traditional craftsmanship with digital refinement. I carved a linoleum block using the classic lino-print technique, then scanned and digitally enhanced the image before adding bottom copy. The design features a forest of mature trees framing a delicate sapling at its center—symbolizing the nurturing of new life by the wisdom of the past. Rendered in a rich, two-tone palette of cheerful yellow and soothing green, the composition elegantly frames the “Arbor Day ’18” text. Although my piece wasn’t ultimately selected, it was a strong candidate that highlights my creative process and commitment to merging hand-crafted artistry with modern techniques.
