Exhibition Announcement: Society for Photographic Education National Conference 2025

If you’re in Reno, Nevada for the Society for Photographic Education (SPE) National Conference from March 6-9, you might catch a glimpse of my work in the SPE Members’ Digital Pin-Up Exhibition, on display in the main lobby of the conference at the Peppermill Reno Resort.

For those unable to attend—or who want a closer look—here are the pieces I submitted for the exhibition, each exploring the conference theme: “Adaptation.”

Adaptation in Light and Motion

The history of photography is one of continual reinvention, a medium shaped by technological, cultural, and artistic evolution. The 2025 SPE Conference calls us to examine how we adapt—not only as photographers but as individuals navigating a rapidly shifting world. My work embraces this theme through movement, transformation, and the interplay of light as a living force.

  • Prometheus’s Gift draws on mythology to explore the dual nature of innovation—both creation and destruction. Like Prometheus stealing fire from the gods, the image captures the tension between knowledge, power, and adaptation in an era where artificial intelligence and automation redefine artistic expression.
  • Echoes of Zion channels the spirit of resilience and survival. Inspired by underground passageways and digital aesthetics, the work reflects a world in flux—one where we must navigate the collision of past and future, organic and synthetic, structure and chaos.
  • Ascension speaks to transcendence and evolution, visually representing the way individuals and societies rise and transform through adversity. In a time of radical change, the piece asks: What does it mean to ascend? What are we leaving behind, and what are we becoming?

Each of these images embodies adaptation as a process of transformation, using light painting and experimental photography to capture fleeting moments of reinvention.
